Note: He’s the only boss where Sling Pods are present on the arena.
History: Tarantox was a giant Cosmic Scuttlebug that did usual spider stuff inside its planet, until a Toad came and he prepared to eat it. That is when Mario came and beat him bad, kicking him out of his home. He’s since settled down on a similar planet.

Appearance: A very large bug with dull yellow stripes. He has 3 eyes, a snout that spits out goop, and 4 goo-spewing spheres on his sides. Kind of resembles a giant Scuttle Bug
Friends: Well, none... You don't meet many people when you live on a web
Enemies: Mario and Luigi

Biography: Tarantox is a massive bug that inhabits the Space Junk Galaxy. He spends most of his time on his web, hardly ever moving except in case of enemy attacks. He has the ability to squirt goop out his snout, and even out of some sphere-like organs on his sides. On his underbelly are 3 red organs that seem quite sensitive as they hurt Tarantox a great deal; Mario defeated him by destroying these organs. Tarantox is very protective of his web. In a moment in Super Mario Galaxy when a Toad Brigade member came to his web, Tarantox immediatley trapped him on a Sling Pod. Mario went to his web as well, but defeated Tarantox and launched him in to the depths of space. But Tarantox survived, and now lurks the unexplored areas of the Space Junk Galaxy.

Fun Facts:
-Tarantox was once one of the leaping bugs that are commonly found in the Space Junk Galaxy, but he turned huge after finding the Power Star, and its essence still keeps him huge after he lost it.
