Ludwig von Koopa is the oldest and smartest Koopa in the family. He is the inventor of the family as well, but half of his inventions simply explode and don't work, probably because he gets chocolate in the wiring while he eats. On occasions when he can't think of anything to invent, Ludwig will compose music, but all his songs are terrible. He is very cruel and will do anything to become the next king of Dark Land, even though Bowser already reserved the position for him. Ludwig has wacky blue hair that he either washes and combs a lot or never washes or combs at all, and a blue shell that he thinks is better than his old green shell. Ludwig took over Pipe Land because of his love for pipe organs and using them to invent things.

Lemmy Koopa is the second oldest Koopaling, and Iggy's twin. Although Lemmy and Iggy were born on the same day, they only acted like twins when they were younger. They have now split up and live their own lives. Lemmy is very clownish and loves to balance on his beach balls, his favorites being a green ball with a yellow star, and a yellow ball with multiple orange stars. Lemmy doesn't care as much about taking over the Mushroom Kingdom and would rather join the circus. Lemmy has a rainbow Mohawk that ends with a yellow ponytail, orange rectangle birthmarks on the sides of his head, and an orange shell. He took over Ice Land because of his love for the ice and cold.

Iggy Koopa is the third oldest, second smartest, and greediest Koopaling. Bowser mistook him for the fourth oldest because he and Roy were born while the events of Super Mario Bros. 1 occurred, and because Iggy was seen napping while Lemmy and Roy were playing, he thought that Iggy was younger. He is practically Larry times ten when it comes to his greed. He may even be desperate enough to steal from his dad and sell the stuff behind his back. Because of his love for money, he got Iggy's Casino on LL. Besides his love for money, Iggy also has a love for his favorite TV show, and idols greedy Eddy. He first got into the show when he stole for the first time at age 4. The loot was plushies of the Eds from Earth (he kept Eddy, but he gave Ed and Edd to Lemmy and Ludwig for their birthdays), and then he saw them on TV while flipping channels. This may even be the reason why Iggy is greedy. He used to hate Roy because Roy used to beat him up, but after Iggy actually won a fight with him, Roy stopped bullying him and they became friends. Iggy wears glasses, has green hair shaped like a palm tree (his hair used to be like Lemmy's without the ponytail but he dyed it green so he wouldn't be confused with Lemmy, which he hated), and a lime green shell. He actually didn't want Giant Land because it made him feel short, another thing he hated. He wanted Sky Land because he felt that he could test his jumping abilities well on the clouds, but while the doomship was over Giant Land, Iggy fell off and was forced to take it over instead.

Roy is the fourth oldest, the strongest, and the meanest Koopaling, but is known to have a softer side. He enjoys beating up Larry and Morton but will sometimes give a little beating to another sibling. He used to beat up Iggy more than Larry or Morton, but ever since Iggy won a fight against him, they became friends (although Iggy still isn't safe from a friendly noogie or two.) Other than his bully attitude, he has a softer side that he has only told Iggy about. Roy's softer side shows that he does care for his siblings and he even leaves valuable gifts for his siblings at Cristmas, only he signs them "Anonymous" so they won't find out they’re from him. Roy usually watches boxing on TV, but will watch Arthur when nobody's around. Iggy says that someday Roy should reveal his softer side and he would then be loved more, but for now, Roy's siblings had better stay away from him if they don't want a beating. Roy has red sunglasses, no hair, and a purple shell. Roy was originally going to take over Giant Land because he wanted to prove that he was stronger than the giants, but when Iggy fell off the Doomship and into Giant Land, Roy took over Sky Land instead.

Wendy O. Koopa is the third youngest and only female Koopaling. She is very spoiled, and her temper tantrums help her get Bowser and her siblings to get her whatever she wants. She spends most of her day swimming or making herself look pretty. Despite her girly looks, Wendy is really a tomboy and will sometimes play sports (as long as she can't get dirty)or video games with her brothers. Wendy has no hair, which she has replaced with a large, pink bow with white spots. She wears golden bracelets instead of spiked ones like her brothers, has a red necklace, pink high heels, and a pink shell. She took over Water Land because she loved to swim, and she uses the water as a mirror to make herself look pretty.

Morton Koopa Jr. is the second youngest Koopaling and the only one with brown skin instead of yellow. He loves to talk, eat wedding cake, and talk about wedding cake. This has led to almost no siblings liking him. Morton talks a lot and could talk non-stop until someone (mostly Roy) gets him to shut up. Morton is also known to be quite cranky, aggressive, and talkative if he doesn't get much sleep, so nobody bothers to even think about waking Morton up at night. Some say that if you listen to Morton long enough, you could learn the answers to everything in life, but so far nobody has dared to try. Morton has a big gray star birthmark over his left eye, three strands of black hair on his head, and a black shell. Morton took over Desert Land because he loved how hot and sandy it was, and because it was so spacious, anyone can just leave when Morton wants to talk.

Larry Koopa is the youngest and sneakiest Koopaling, and the one who Roy likes to beat up the most. He loves winning games, but when he's losing, he's going to cheat. Larry is a lover of plants and keeps his own garden in Dark Land as well several plants in his room. Larry also loves money almost as much as Iggy, and will usually help Iggy steal from others for half the profit. However, Larry only takes coins because he thinks that if he refuses paper money, he will save trees. Larry's favorite thing to do is spy on other people, although this sometimes leads to the person catching him so that he earns another beating. Like how Iggy loves Ed Edd n Eddy, Larry has a love for the Olsen Twins Mary-Kate and Ashley, and idols them. If Larry wasn't such a target for Roy, he might've been able to spy on him and maybe discover his soft side. Larry has sky blue hair that's combed back, a small sky blue star-shaped birthmark on the left side of his head, and a sky blue shell. He took over Grass Land because he could take care of the plants there and easily spy on the king.
