Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Toad were walking around a toy store. It was Peach’s birthday and they were going to buy her a present. They passed bikes, soccer equipment, a recipe book, and tons more. Then they started down the board game aisle. They passed Explosion, Coinopoly, and It’s Okay. Then near the middle of the aisle they looked at a board game called Party.
“What is this?” asked Toad.
Mario read the back and said, “For the ultimate board game experience play Party, the wacky game for ages 6 to 120. In this game you’ll get the thrill of using the funny pieces to move around the board collecting cheese.”
Mario’s eyes got real wide. Then he shouted, “CHEESE!”
After thinking about it they decided to buy it. They took the last set left.
The 4 took it home and wrapped it for Peach. Her party was the next day and they needed to be ready.
The next morning they all started walking to Peach’s castle. They crossed through Toad Town, then arrived at the gate. 2 guards made their spears into Xs. Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Toad told them they were there for the party. The guards allowed them through. As they were crossing the bridge Mario tripped and the box slid over to the edge, hovering over the water. Luigi jumped but the force of it knocked it into the water.
“Oh no!” shouted Mario.
The box slowly sank to the bottom of the water. Then a die, little paper Toad pieces, and chunks of the board came floating to the top of the river.
“What are we going to do?” yelled Toad.
“How can we explain we lost Peach’s present?” said Luigi.
Then a light bulb appeared over Mario’s head. Then it fell and hit Mario, knocking him unconscious. Mario awoke seconds later and then started whispering a plan to the others. They all agreed, then set to work. They were going to make a giant version of the game. They each had to do something to help. Mario was in charge of finding a large, grassy meadow. Luigi was ordered to find a dice, items, and coins. Wario was in charge of getting Stars and finding giant stickers for spaces. Toad was in charge of getting everything the others didn’t.
Mario went around from different friends asking to borrow some land. Unfortunately no one owned enough land but the princess. So Mario snuck over and found a spot on Peach’s lawn. He then whipped out a lawn mower. He made 80 square spots around the lawn. He then made little touches to the lawn.
Sadly Luigi wasn’t having as much luck. He got all the coins from a bank but that was all he had. He went home and made what he wanted to make for a while. He took a block with ten sides, then painted it yellow and then painted the edges red. Then he started painting all the numbers on. Finally he only needed items. He went over to Toad Town’s general store. He walked in and said hi to the shopkeeper. Then he went to the shelves and bought a Mushroom, Fire Flower, Bob-omb, and a Sleepy Sheep. He then ran back to the castle.
Wario had the least trouble. He climbed down the chimney and slipped into one of the many rooms in the castle. He played through the levels until he’d earned 50 Stars. Now all he needed was stickers. He knew exactly who to call. He went into a dim alley and entered a pay phone. He dialed the numbers 012-3456-789. It was answered immediately
“What’s the code?” said a voice.
“Sticker-meister,” answered Wario.
“What’s the gig?” asked the voice.
“I need 80 stickers, 3 up, 3 across. 30 of them need to be blue, 30 red, 5 green with a question mark, 10 need to be gold, and 5 need to be purple; and I need these stickers now,” said Wario.
The line went dead. Then Wario turned around and saw Waluigi holding 80 giant stickers with a wide, stupid grin on his face along with crossed eyes and his tongue sticking out. Waluigi handed Wario the stickers, then walked away. Wario went back and put his share of things on the board. Soon after, Luigi arrived with his things. They all put them on the board. Finally Toad arrived and handed Mario a card. It said “Happy Birthday Peach”.
30 minutes later the party started. After cake they went out for presents. Mario walked up to Peach and said, “Your present is outside.”
When they got outside Peach was stunned. She hugged all of them. After the party ended they played a round on the board. They enjoyed it so much they decided to make lots and lots of boards. Through the years they added mini-games, more items, tons more players, new spaces, and lots more. Now they play it at least once a month.
