LEAH KOOPA interviews LARRY

By Leah Koopa

(The camera opens to show that the stage is completely empty, save for the chairs.)

Kooper: Where’s Leah? She should be here by now.

Lakitu: I don’t know…She didn’t call in sick. Now that I think about it, where’s the audience?

(Lakitu and Kooper look over to the hundreds of empty seats that are normally filled.)

Somewhere in Grass Land...

Leah: Where are Lakitu and Kooper? I sent out the memo last week that we would be doing a special Interview in front of Larry’s castle.

Bombette: Maybe they slept in.

Leah: Oh well, we still have a few cameras, let’s get started.

(Larry steps out of his castle to see a crowd of Koopas, Goombas, and many other things surrounding him.)

Larry: What are all of you doing here?

Leah: I’m interviewing you, silly.

Larry: That was today?

Leah: Yep.

Larry: (Why did I have to forget?) I guess you should start then.

Leah: Everyone give a warm welcome to the youngest Koopaling and cutest Koopa to walk the face of Plit, Larry!

(Larry gets an anime sweatdrop.)

Leah: All right, question number one. Why did Bowser give you Grass Land instead of the others in Super Mario Bros. 3?

Larry: He wanted the Mario Bros. to fight us from youngest to oldest, so if they did manage to beat us, they would be tired by the time they got to Roy and Ludwig. I was the youngest until Jr. showed up, so I was given Grass Land, the first land.

Leah: I see, so then how come he kept you so close to his castle in Super Mario World?

Larry: That was more of a power issue. I wasn’t able to come up with my own battle technique in the short time that we planned the attack, so he gave me the fortress in the Valley of Bowser so I could have time to, but I just ended up using Iggy’s.

Leah: Do you like me?

Larry: What?

(Bombette body slams Leah to get her attention.)

Bombette: You two can discuss that later. Stick to the Interview, please.

Leah: Fine. Why do you like spying on your siblings so much?

Larry: It started when King Dad made my spy on the Mario Bros. and the princess before our attack on the Mushroom World. I liked the fun of spying so much that now I’ve turned it into a hobby.

Leah: Very interesting. How come in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga you used a tennis racket in your battle?

Larry: While spying on their fights with my siblings, I wanted to come up with a move that was mine alone to confuse them. So, being a master of the sport, I used my racket to hit the fireballs back at them.

Leah: Smart and cute, you’re the perfect package.

Larry: Thanks?

Leah: Time for audience questions. Seat number 246.

Daisy: If you could, would you appear in one of the sports games?

Larry: Almost the instant I am asked to. I want to show everyone up with my skills.

Daisy: You still wouldn’t be able to beat me.

(Leah presses a button on her remote and a spring inside Daisy’s chair makes her fly into the distance.)

Larry: What else can that remote do?

Leah: Well, it can summon my crash test dummy.

(She presses the yellow button on the remote. A warp pipe appears a few feet away and Luigi falls out of it.)

Leah: And, if I feel the need to, it does this.

(She presses the black button on the remote and a Thwomp appears over Luigi. Luigi tries to run, but is crushed by the Thwomp.)

Leah: Anyway, back to the matter at hand. Seat number -3.

Dry Bones: How come you were given the cold hotel in Hotel Mario?

Larry: It was to throw the Mario Bros. off a bit. When they first went in, they were expecting Lemmy to be in the cold, but then they found me. It’s also why Lemmy was in the sky one instead of Roy.

Leah: Very clever. Last question, seat number 999.

Waluigi: How-a do you feel about-a being replaced in Super Princess Peach?

Larry: I never actually played that game anyway, so I don’t mind too much. But, it does make me annoyed that Nintendo got rid of us when we were going to make a comeback.

Leah: We’re all out of time, thank you for answering all the questions.

Back at the studio...

Lakitu: Maybe the show was scheduled for tomorrow?

Kooper: No, it was today.

(The memo falls out of Kooper’s shell and he picks it up.)

Kooper: Oh right, the show is in Grass Land today!

(Fifteen minutes later…)

Lakitu: Sorry we’re late, everyone, we for…

(Everyone is gone, but the chairs and cameras are still set up.)

Kooper: At least we made it in time for the cleanup…

Lakitu: End transmission.
