Rules Update 4.24.2010
Voting for the Tourists' Choice is exclusive, and limited to those people who have had a submission posted during the previous week. This means there will be a different set of voters each week. I may vote as well.
Eligible voters will be contacted at the beginning of each week with an invitation to vote, as well as a weekly password. The purpose of the password is to ensure that none of the voters are impersonated.
Only nominations cast by eligible voters will be counted. No ballot sent without the correct password will be accepted.
If you believe you are an eligible voter but did not receive your password, or if you have lost your password, Email me! Please allow a reasonable amount of time following the update for the Email to be sent and delivered.
To vote, first make your way to the This Weeks' Candidates page. Enter your name (this should be the same name you made your submission under) and the password you were sent. Check the box next to those candidate submissions you would like to nominate for the Tourists' Choice award. Finally, click the vote button at the bottom of the page.
Voting a candidate submission into Little Lemmy's Land through its personal feedback form does not count as nominating it for the Tourists' Choice award. Likewise, nominating a submission for the Tourists' Choice award does not count as voting it into Little Lemmy's Land. These votes must be cast separately through the respective forms.
It is up to each voter to determine what it takes for a candidate to receive a nomination. Each voter may nominate any number of submissions. Voters do not need to make all their nominations at once, but may not nominate any individual candidate more than once.
Each voter's nominations are worth the same, regardless of the number of submissions accepted or the number of nominations cast.
Voting will end Thursday night of each week, to give me time to tally the results and update the pages. No votes will be accepted on Friday. In the event of any change to the updating schedule, appropriate adjustments will be made.
The winning submission will be that candidate that received the most nominations at the close of the voting period. In case of a tie, each candidate that has received the highest number of nominations will be declared the winner. There will be no tiebreakers.
Voters may not give their voting privileges to another. Anyone found to have been involved in this will be barred from voting in the future.
All nominations are confidential. Vote tallies will never be revealed, and only the winning candidate will be identified. No other results will be disclosed.
Eligible submissions will be those that have their own feedback form (such submissions are sometimes called full-page submissions). Some exceptions may apply, however.
Eligible submissions will become candidates for the Tourists' Choice award the week they are posted to the public pages, not the week they are posted to the secret page for Super Koopas only.
Only completed submissions will be candidates. Submissions that are originally posted incomplete will become candidates the week the final portion is posted to the public pages. This means that no individual submission can be a candidate more than once.
Submissions may become candidates regardless of how many times their author has already won. There is no limit to the number of candidate submissions an individual author may have apart from how many submissions I can feasibly post.
If you do not want your submission to be listed as a candidate, you must Email me! By default, all eligible submissions will become candidates at the appropriate time.
If your candidate submission has been left off the ballot, Email me! I will make an appropriate adjustment.
The winning submission will be linked from the main page for one week, and will also be decorated with an award graphic.
The author of the winning submission will be given one Koopaling vote in congratulations, and may also place the award graphic on his or her own webpage, if desired.
Thank you very much to Martin for designing the Tourists' Choice award graphic.
A minimum of ten candidate submissions must be on the ballot for the Tourists' Choice vote to be held. If fewer than ten submissions are eiigible, those submissions will be rolled over to following weeks until enough submissions are eligible for the vote to be held.
The Koopaling votes prize will be one vote for every week since the last Tourists' Choice was held. So if one week of voting had to be skipped, then the winner of the next vote, representing two weeks' worth of submissions, would receive 2 Koopaling votes.
