By Lemmy Koopa
It was a rainy afternoon in Water Land, where the Koopas were currently staying. Iggy looked around nervously as he edged towards the safe in the Koopa Lounge. It was his safe, and only he knew the combination that would open it. Iggy saw that a girl was also in the room, but she was fast asleep. He crept over to the safe and began to turn the dial.
But of course, Iggy was not alone. A Koopa who had trouble staying silent put an ear to the Koopa Lounge’s door. A small Koopa squeezed into the door as well, and peered through the keyhole. A strong Koopa stood inside a secret walled chamber, ready to charge Iggy when he took a precious item out of the safe. Then there was the Koopa who was spying on the door, ready to blackmail the Koopas who were standing there. Another Koopa had somehow rigged the safe to make all the gold in it disappear. And, of course, the girl wasn’t really sleeping.
Iggy did not notice any of the Koopas around him as he opened the safe and put in a valuable, specifically crafted diamond walrus. Satisfied that the walrus would be safe, Iggy closed the safe and went off to the gym.
That night...
That night, a Koopaling who had just learned the safe’s combination slowly crept down a flight of stairs towards the Koopa Lounge. Just before the Koopa reached the door, someone screamed, “I gotta get my beauty sleep!” Thinking it was the end, the thief was relieved to find that no one was around. The Koopa entered the Lounge, opened the safe, and made of with the diamond walrus.
The next morning...
The next morning, Iggy decided he didn’t really like the diamond walrus and that he would sell it. Iggy made sure that he was alone (he was right this time), opened the safe, and screamed when he didn’t see the walrus. His screams echoed through the castle, and Bowser and the Koopalings came running.
“What’s wrong?” asked Wendy, who looked particulary pretty.
“Someone stole my diamond walrus!” Iggy snapped. “I want it back NOW!”
The Koopalings looked at each other and began pointing claws. All six of the accused Koopalings agreed they were innocent. Finally, Bowser said, “Well, somebody had better confess, because no one is leaving this room until you do!”
The accused Koopalings groaned, and Iggy began to edge out of the room.
“Not so fast, Iggy!” Bowser shouted, startling all his children. “You’re not off the hook yet. It is possible that you "stole" the walrus yourself to get one of your siblings in trouble. Now, get back in line!”
Iggy stood in shock and then returned to the center of the room while Bowser began interrogations.
Who stole the diamond walrus?
