Little Lemmy's Land Qualifier
Ranked #4
It was a dark and stormy night. Lightning flashed across the sky, lighting it up. Rain poured on White Ice Castle in Ice Land. It had been raining all day.
The Koopas were going to a meeting in Bowser's bedroom because the ceiling of the regular meeting room had sprung a leak. Only a few of the Koopas were currently at the meeting room. Others were strewn about the castle, and some were not coming at all.
Suddenly, the power went out. Somebody screamed. Bowser stood up to help settle his children. In the darkness, all he could tell was that besides himself, there were one boy and one girl in the room. He didn't know who they were.
As Bowser tried to remember who was in his room, a girl walked in. "Sorry I'm late," the new arrival said, "I got lost in the dark."
Bowser did not recognize the voice of the newcomer. "That's all right," Bowser replied, "but who are you?" The guest answered, but Bowser could not hear the reply, because at that moment, there was a loud boom followed by several screams.
Soon, Bowser heard the pattering of many running feet, and several Koopas ran into the room. They were followed by Clawdia, who had been in the dining room having a snack. "What's wrong?" Bowser demanded.
"Somebody set a bomb in the kitchen," explained one of the new arrivals, simply. To Bowser, it sounded like Morton, Lemmy, or Larry.
A voice came from the corner. "I hope you don't suspect me of the bombing," it said, "After all, why would I want to blow up my own castle?"
"Where were you when the bomb went off?" Bowser asked the voice."
"I was right here," the voice answered truthfully.
"I got a piece of the bomb after it blew up," said another voice in one short sentence. The Koopa handed something to Bowser. To Bowser, the voice sounded like Wendy, Morton, or Larry.
Bowser held the piece of the bomb very close to his face so that he could see it. In a moment, he had made his discovery. "This bomb is the kind of bomb where the criminal must be around to set it. Whoever set this bomb must be someone who was not here at the time.
"I hope the bomb didn't ruin the giant cake I baked," said a voice near the door.
"Where were you when the bomb went off?" asked Bowser.
"I was in the hallway coming here," said the voice.
A voice that sounded like Wendy, Lemmy, or Larry asked, "Who could have built and set the bomb?"
After reinspecting the piece of the bomb, Bowser said, "The bomb could only have been built by Lemmy, Wendy, Iggy, or Ludwig. I can also say that the bomb was made and set by the same person."
"Why?" asked a voice very simply. The voice sounded like Larry, Ludwig, or Morton.
"Because the bomb had a lock on it," Bowser answered, "Only the one who made it would know how to set it."
Suddenly, the door opened, and another Koopa walked in. "Hello," said the Koopa in a muffled voice. Bowser had no idea who it was. Suddenly, the Koopas heard a clink. "My glasses!" cried the newcomer.
"Did your glasses fall off?" asked a voice that sounded like Lemmy, Larry, or Wendy.
"Yes, but they're not mine," said the guest.
"Whose are they?" asked a voice that sounded like Morton, Lemmy, or Ludwig.
"They belong to my friend," growled the newcomer. Somebody found the glasses and gave them to the Koopa.
Suddenly, the Koopas heard a faint, muffled voice from far away. "Help!" it called, "I'm being kidnapped. Help!"
"Who could be kidnapped, and who could have done it?" asked a voice that sounded like Wendy, Lemmy, or Iggy.
"Anyone who's not here could be kidnapped," replied Bowser, "but the main suspects for being kidnappers would be Wendy, Lemmy, Roy, and Ludwig." Then he thought for a minute. "I think the bomber and the kidnapper are two different people," he concluded, "and the kidnapper is not in this room, because he is with their prisoner."
As the voice wailed on, the Koopas wondered who the kidnapper could be, and who could be kidnapped. Suddenly, a Koopa whose voice sounded like Lemmy, Larry, or Wendy snapped their fingers and said, "I've figured it out!"
Who kidnapped who?
Since this is the first tough Mystery, I will give a hint. Read "Lemmy’s Bios" for information on personalities. Also, do not allow any extra characters referred to as "a girl" throw you off.
