Found in the basement of Woohoo Hooniversity in Superstar Saga, the head and attack pattern of this robotic creature seems to have been inspired by a Chain Chomp though he has a body unlike any other Chomp I know.  His stamina is decent for where he appears in the game, but his attacks are pretty easy to dodge as I recall.  Sometimes when he takes damage he'll shortcircuit and choreograph his attacks in reverse, which can actually work in his favor; but I'm sure Mario and Luigi didn't have too much trouble figuring this out.

Despite being so predictable, Robo-Chomp made it into Round Three in Season Three of Roy's Sports Hall, but couldn't take a bite out of Tanoomba in his only season appearance.  He got another chance to prove his mettle in the Season Ten Tournament, and proved he is more than just a prototype as he easily defeated Amanita.  Though a relative unknown, his chances of reaching Round Three have just increased by about a thousandfold with the defeat of his presumed opponent, Season Champion Waluigi.  Of course, now Robo will have to snap victory from his new opponent, Bob-omb.
