Biography: Hermie III is a giant Sidestepper that inhabits the Gwarhar Lagoon. He is most well known around the Lagoon for his Christmas tree-like shell that the citizens enjoy coming to decorate. Hermie III is the third generation of the giant Sidesteppers before him, hense his name Hermie III. He seems to be rather unintelligent and has trouble pronoucing a lot of words, possibly due to a sort of mental illness. But while not exactly the brightest star in the galaxy, Hermie is a good fighter. He can shoot poison bubbles out of his claws and hide in his shell for maximum protection.

During Cackletta's reign, Hermie III found a Beanstar piece that floated to the shore of the Lagoon. He thought it would be the perfect decoration for his shell, and slapped it on the very top. He looked pretty flashy and just like a Christmas tree, making him happy with all the attention. But Mario and Luigi came upon him, and explained that they needed the Beanstar piece. Hermie didn't want to give up his favorite decoration, and attacked the Brothers. They were able to beat him by setting his shell on fire to destroy his defenses. The depressed Hermie gave up the Beanstar piece to Mario and Luigi, and they proceeded on their quest, but felt bad for taking away Hermie's favorite decoration. Hermine sat there in sadness and anger for a while. But Mario and Luigi came back, and decided to find a new decoration for Hermie to replace the Beanstar piece. Using their Ultra Hammers, they found a Starfish named Spangle. Spangle apparently loved to play rock music, and needed a stage to play on. With his star-like appearance, the Brothers considered that it would be a great decoration for Hermie's shell. Both Hermie and Spangle were happy with each other, and Hermie III gave Mario and Luigi a rare Soulful Bros. Badge in return.

Today, Hermie still lives happily in the Gwarhar Lagoon, continuing to add on to his shell.

Fun Facts:
- During Mario and Luigi's battle with him, Sidesteppers would frequently run by.
- Hermie doesn't seem to be able to pronounce the "s" sound, and he replaces it with the "th" sound.
