The Smorg was created by an evil Magikoopa named Bob (pathetic name, I know). Unfortunately, the Smorg creating process went out of control. The Smorg killed Bob and flew off (or however it moves). It spent most of its days torturing villages by sucking their souls out with its tentacles (called Miasma). One day, it decided to terrorize a train that just so happened to have Mario on it. It grabbed the passengers, and tried to suck their souls out. Mario butted in and defeated the Smorg. It fled to a cave, never to be heard from again. Rumors have it that it is a bunch of smaller creatures, when it is actually one whole beast that can break into smaller bits, that I said above are called Smites.
