Gourmet Guy started life like any other Shy Guy. He was born on Yoshi's Island, but once Baby Mario came his parents sent him away because it was too dangerous for the young Shy Guy. Bowser later found him and took him to his castle to soon be sent to the Shy Guy Toy Box. This was in time for Bowser's and Clawdia's wedding, where he tried his first cake. He loved it. He needed it. "I NEED MORE!!!" he sceamed into the sunset. That night he stole into the Koopa Castle kitchens, eating five whole spare wedding cakes. The next day he was sent to the Shy Guy Toy Box and was drafted into the Shy Army. He HATED Army life. He hardlly got any cake. Without much cake, he went beserk seeing it. In a battle one year, he got hurt and quit, but was forced to stay in the Toy Box as a guard for General Guy. He got a high pay with that job, 20 coins an hour, all day! With that money he bought unbreakable silver forks and knives, and cake. Lots and lots of cake. He got so fat that he was demoted to guard the lever that fixes the train tracks. One fateful day Mario came and bribed him with cake, precious cake he was no longer allowed to have! He couldn't resist. After General Guy was defeated, Gourmet Guy was kicked out of the Shy Army. Now he wanders, lost and hungry without a home. Until one day...

Favorite Pastime: Eating, doing whatever he wants, food eating contests
Least Favorite Pastime: Dieting, having heart attacks, not being able to be in eating contests
Favorite People: Tayce T, Zess T, Chef Torte, Shy Guy King, his parents (deceased), any fat person like him

Gourmet Guy was once a normal Shy Guy. Gourmet Guy 's father and mother were very poor. He mostly ate vegetables, and hardly ate meat. Then Kamek sent his parents to help him conquer Yoshi's Island. Gourmet Guy didn't see his parents ever again. He hates Kamek and blames him for his parents death (and he should).

When he reached the age of 25 he started working for Wart. Wart wanted him to help him with his Dream Machine and help create minions. One day Gourmet Guy was drinking a soda and he accidentally spilled some on the Dream Machine. Wart was really angry and he kicked him out of Sub-con. While he was walking in Toad Town he smelled a delicious aroma. It was Tayce T's. cake. He asked for a bite, then after that his life changed. He went berserk. He wanted many sweet and high fat foods.

Soon, at the age of 30, he was in Bowser's army. Bowser didn't like Gourmet Guy because he mostly ate everything in the castle. Dungeon sentence after dungeon sentence, after 20 such punishments Bowser sent him to General Guy's army. General Guy decided his job would be to block the roads.

Soon in the events of Paper Mario, Mario offered him one of Tayce T's cakes. Gourmet Guy went berserk once again and jumped all the way to Bowser's castle, dropping the Cookbook. Soon Gourmet Guy asked Peach to bake him a cake. After Peach gave him a cake he went berserk again. (Sheesh, does this guy ever stop going berserk? Um, anyway...) He told Peach where the next Star Spirit was, after that he jumped out of the castle into the ground. (Believe it or not, his weight caused the castle to go down) The castle was 5 feet from the ground. After that he followed General Guy to Sub-con.

Soon after Paper Mario they decided to be good. They joined in the parade in which Gourmet Guy tried to eat Huff ‘N Puff. Soon Gourmet Guy went into food eating contests. He still is in General Guy's army and judges people in baking contests.
