Facts: Red Virus has another name: Fever, and actually causes fever
This heat-inducing bacterium originated as a strain of flu until (according to the Mushroom people) Bowser got hold of them (see Blue Virus). In Dr. Mario Deluxe, the Viruses ran amok again but this time on Plit. Dr. Mario didn't know how they got there but he knew they had to be stopped. These Viruses (Red, Blue, and Yellow) each caused a reaction in the citizens. As mentioned above, Red caused extreme fever, and as Blue's name implies, he caused terrible chill.
They originally appeared in the NES version of Dr. Mario. These viruses have made a comeback in places you wouldn't expect, such as Wario Ware Inc.
