History: At the age of 18, Gloom and Gloomer were just normal Goombas (named “Goom and Goomer”) living a normal life in their home in Ice Land. They were always serious troublemakers, so when they heard that there was going to be an attempt at taking over the entire Mushroom Kingdom, they just couldn’t help but move to Dark Land to join in the crusade. Unfortunately, they didn’t realize that the sign-up sheets on the walls of Bowser’s castle had been up there for quite a while already. By the time they got to Dark Land, sign-ups had already ended and the two Goomba brothers didn’t know what to do. Just then the two of them agreed that they would join in the fun anyway. As they were looking for a good place to cause trouble, they both ended up falling into the dark sewers of world 1-2. Neither of them knew their way around, so they were stuck in there, and as time passed by, they began to notice their bodies changing to a dark shade of blue because of toxins in the sewers. They had become Gloombas.

Cause of (FIRST) Deaths: Now that they were trapped in the sewers, they decided to stay together near the entrance to world 1-2, in case somebody came who could help them. But, instead, Mario came and ended up putting both of them out of their misery with just a single jump, sending them directly to the Underwhere.

Cause of (SECOND) Deaths: It is said that they somehow tricked Jaydes into letting them out, but, surprisingly enough, they popped up in the sewers of Chapter 3-1 in Super Paper Mario - an exact copy of World 1-2’s sewers in Super Mario Bros. – where they met the same fate as before: Mario’s foot.
