Charlieton went to Rogueport in search of a big business opportunity, but he didn't find out it was a town of thieves until his boat had sailed off. Disappointed, Charlieton attempted to run an honest business, but he eventually had to carve out a niche with the local mob boss, Don Pianta.

The money came rolling in one day when the Don required Mushrooms and Syrup for recovery after a bloody mob war with Ishnail's gang. Charlieton then saw another business opportunity with Ishnail's crew and offered him the same services he provided the Don.

Eventually, the tug of both groups made his allegiances known to all and although he lost all ties to both groups, both still secretly purchase goods from Charlieton.

Mario came to Rogueport and put a tiny dent in Charlieton's profits, but he already received so much money from the mobs that Mario was only a minor customer. However, after Mario's departure, Charlieton become Rogueport's leader in copyright-infringed Mario merchandise.

Nobody knows where Charlieton gets his goods, who his supplier is, or how much money he really has, but Charlieton continues to stand in the middle of town and sell his goods to this very day.
